Dota 2 Coach

Your last game, measured against your own.

Rank percentiles tell you how you compare to strangers. This grades one game against the thousands you have already played, on that hero, in that mode. Then you can argue with it.

How it works

The grade, the percentiles and the list of what made the game different are arithmetic, not opinion. Each metric is placed inside your own distribution for that hero, so the same match always reads the same way. A hero you have played fewer than eight times falls back to your career spread, and the page says which one it used.

The chat is the only part that calls a model, and it is handed those numbers and nothing else. Before an answer reaches you, every figure in it is matched against your match data. Anything that does not match gets flagged above the answer instead of quietly shipping. A coach that invents a death count is worse than no coach.

Turbo is the default on purpose. Turbo gold and experience run far ahead of the other modes, so a Turbo game scores well against any mixed pool however it was played. Comparing Turbo to Turbo is the only read that means anything.

Win rate counts every game, including the ones you left. Those are reported separately because dropping them from the total turns a coin flip into a winning record, which would be a comfortable lie.

Public match data comes from the OpenDota API, which only indexes matches after they finish. There is no overlay, no desktop app, and nothing reads the game while you play. Players who show as private need to switch on Expose Public Match Data in Dota 2 settings and sign in once at opendota.com. Not affiliated with Valve or Dotabuff.
